Pre-Operative Interview

In the interview, your complaints about your breasts and expectations after the operation are primarily evaluated. You are discussed about the size, shape of your breasts, and state of your skin, your age, and position of nipple. You are informed about the details of operation.

When you decide to have the operation, my assistant will plan the day of operation.

Age for Operation

The age for operation is recommended to be 18 and over excluding exceptions. In Poland syndrome or virginal hypertrophy, operation is possible for those under 18.

Preparation for Operation

For patients under 40, mammary ultrasonography is required and for those over 40, mammography tests are required. On the day of operation, you will need an attendant who will help you.
You should stop taking aspirin and its derivatives one week before the operation. (do not stop taking the medication you permanently use without consulting your doctor)
It is recommended not to smoke for a while before and after the operation.
Do not put on any makeup, do not use hair gel, wear comfortable clothes and leave your jewels at home before coming to the hospital for operation.
Do not eat or drink anything 6 hours before the operation.
Be present at the hospital about one hour before the operation.
When you come to the room reserved for you, you may be given an oral drug if you want, it will relax you.

Operative Technique

Asymmetric breast operation changes in accordance with the structure, size or shape of breast.
-if it is sagging compared to the other one; breast lift operation,
-if it is smaller than the other breast; breast augmentation with silicone breast prosthesis or fat injection,
-if it is bigger than the other breast; breast reduction operation
-if the nipple is asymmetric compared to the other one; restoring nipple to the normal position
-For gynecomasty patients; liposuction or reduction operation is made.

Type of Anesthesia

Local or general anesthesia is applied depending on the procedure.

Duration of Operation

It lasts 30 minutes- 2 hours depending on the procedure.

Recovery Period

The patient does not generally need to stay in the hospital or stays only for one day depending on the operation to be applied. Post-operation stage is generally easy. If breast prosthesis is used during operation, you may have limitation in arm movements. Dressing is opened 2 days later and the wound is controlled. The bandage is opened 7 days later. The patient should wear sports bras for 6 weeks. There may be swelling, numbing or pinkish color change on the skin. They disappear in a short time. You can get back to your work in 3-4 days depending on your work. You are recommended to avoid heavy sports for 3 months. The reshaped breasts are long lasting. Breast lift surgery is an operation that generally gives good and permanent results, restores the person’s and her spouse’s psychological state and makes them lively more than ever.
